With hard economic times upon us, saving money has become a very popular topic, and most people are searching for ways to save an extra buck or two. Rising fuel costs and rising grocery bills contribute to this lack of money, so families need to find new and creative ways trim back and save more money.

Here are a few ways that you can save more money everyday:

1. Clip and Print those coupons! Gone are the days when coupons were synonymous with your dear old aunt or the little group of spinsters down the road. Today, coupons have great universal appeal. Some people think of coupons as their additional "cash". Coupons can be used for everything from everyday groceries, with values exceeding $3-4 on some items, to discounts on your car's brakes. Plus, there are also a multitude of FREE things that can be acquired by using coupons. You can find coupons in your Sunday newspaper, online, in the mail, in coupon packets such as Valpak, on the shelves in the supermarket, and you may even receive them at the register when you go to pay for your groceries.

2. Try those samples! Sample=FREE. Buy nothing, but get something. It's actually a very nice concept. You can find samples all over the place, whether in your local big box stores, at the supermarket, and even in the mall. Companies are always trying to get you "hooked" on their stuff. Many companies will run a promotion and give away free samples of their products for you to try. Most times, these samples come with some type of coupon as an extra bonus and incentive to continue to use their products. However, don't feel "obligated" to become a loyal customer. Just enjoy the "free" ride.

3. Research and take advantage of online sales! Many companies are now offering "Online Only" sales and are offered on wide variety of products, such as sports equipment, clothing, lawn & yard, . These sales can range from instant savings to companies providing promotional codes for future use.  One good source, these online sales can normally be researched directly through the company's website in the Promotional or Sale section. They are very easy to spot and can translate to a substantial amount saved.

Saving money can be very, very good. In addition to the wonderful, altruistic things that you can do with all of those savings, including donating to your favorite non-profit charity, you could also do lots of other great stuff, like saving for those season tickets. Hey, with a little research and resourcefulness, this saving thing could really make life even greater!
